"I was referred to Dr. Sivakumar in August 2009 by the surgeon who did Biopsy on me as there was a lump in the pelvic region. Dr. Sivakumar diagnosed it as Hodgkins Lymphoma stage II – A. Thereafter he proceeded to educate, explain and enlighten me on the disease in detail. Naturally being an aged person who absolutely had no knowledge on the disease, I raised a barrage of questions over three sessions which he patiently answered. I was reassured by his approach and answers and was mentally prepared to undergo the inevitable Chemotherapy which I was initially averse to.

The treatment started in September 2009. The doctor adequately fore warned me about the side effects. Ultimately in 2010, he declared me free from the disease because of his continued care and attention and God's grace I had overcome the disease.

My quarterly visits to Dr. S. Sivakumar continue to this day. In fact I look forward to such visits which help me keep active. His gentle advices which are professional are beneficial.

"Those who have met the Great Monster - Cancer and treated, know that even after being cured you have to go for your regular check ups. Though I had been treated by another Doctor and cured, I had to quit visiting him due to certain unfortunate reasons. Was referred to Dr. Sivakumar by my family Doctor and went to Sai Balaji Clinic with great anxiety.

Met Doctor Sivakumar and once he spoke to me, all my fear flew away. Understood Doctor is very experienced and knows what he is talking. He patiently clarified all my doubts and explained what I should do way forward. I was so relived and happy that I found the right Doctor. He then introduced me to his wife Kalarani who is a psychologist.

It is a delight to know her. Kala runs the SBCC group (free of cost) which comprises of all women cancer patients who have been treated and cured. This group meets every month and discusses on health, fun, exercise, hobbies and what not. There is even a trained Yoga teacher who teaches Mudras and other exercise to manage pain and stress and to have positive energy and peaceful sleep.

More than the treatment, cancer patients require care and attention and courage to overcome pain and stress. While Dr. Sivakumar treats with care and attention, Kala helps reviving the patient's courage and confidence in fighting the monster - Cancer.
